2 Peter 3:1-10
We are reminded here that this is Peter’s second letter and that he is trying to remind his readers to remember the words of the prophets and the commands of Jesus as shared by the apostles. Peter then goes on to warn his readers about scoffers and their detrimental words and indulgent life style. He then addresses the apparent point of contention with these scoffers, the apparent delay in the return of Christ. Peter goes on to say that the Lord’s delay in returning is an example of God’s patience and desire for all to come to repentance. He then warns that the Lord will come back without warning.
Have we tried God’s patience with our impatience?
